Description
The Baga carved serpents are traditionally worn as a dance headress, supported by a light framework on the head and shoulders of the wearer. Reputed to be involved in funerals, protecting boys at circumcision and curing droughts, they can appear in groups, be male or female and offer a reconciliation of the spirit of the water with that of the bush.
